IDS – Intrusion Detection Systems

Ensuring that no unauthorized person gains entry to a secure facility or sensitive area—whether at an airport, nuclear plant, industrial plant, government mission-critical facility, or commercial building—is a top priority for security managers. Security forces can monitor the exterior and interior of your facility and secure areas, monitor sensitive equipment within these areas, and detect the entry, forced or otherwise, of unauthorized personnel. IDS makes use of sophisticated intrusion sensors (including microwave and e-field technology) and door sensors (including balanced magnetic switches) to detect unauthorized entry. The system also features duress-condition silent alarms and equipment tamper and fault monitors. Selected CCTV cameras are assigned to specific alarm zones, allowing instant visual assessment of an alarm condition.

The IDS data-acquisition and control software continually monitors perimeter detection instrumentation and notifies console operators if any unauthorized change of system state occurs, both by sounding an audible console alarm and by prominently displaying the possible intrusion incident on the screen, in tabular and graphic format. The system also monitors and reports unauthorized entry into designated protected areas (e.g., through cycling of the door's magnetic switch). Notification is by audible alarm and screen indication. Geographic partitioning of all alarms enables selected consoles to receive specific alarms configured for that station. Additional system configuration panels permit easy administrator management and setup.
